must have been a fluke. he woke up at 4am last night.

Whoa!

He did it!!!! He slept from midnight-ish until 7:30!!

wow!

That was awesome!!!!!

Last night kinda sucked. It took 2 hours to get him to fall back asleep. So I didn't get to bed until 3am. I'm struggling today. He is sleeping right now, so I need to take a nap. haha It's 740pm. Who are we kidding?

I hope he is better tonight.

last night's dream

Before Jimmy & I went to bed we discussed about how Caden seems to need more than 4 oz per feeding now. He seems like he is still hungry after. According to our paper, it says 1-3 months of age they eat 4-5oz. How can he already be at the max? This kid can eat!

So while that was in the back of my mind:

[cue the dream sequence music]

We are at the pediatrician's office. He looks at Caden and says, "Well, I don't know how to put this, but your son will never be able to walk. He is just too fat."

Then I turned to look at him, OMG! He was HUGE!!!! Looked like the Marshmallow Man but with flesh toned skin!

"Jimmy! What have we done!?! We fed him too much food! Now he will never be able to walk or play any sports or have a normal life! And it's all of our fault!!!!"

It felt so real and so scary.

[cue dream sequence music]

Luckily, I woke up and he was just as perfect as he was the night before. Lying there in his crib.

Today, we both took a nap on the couch. It took me awhile to fall asleep, bc I just laid there staring at him. I kept thinking how adorable he was & how perfect. I felt soooo incredibly lucky that he is mine. Then fell asleep for about 40 min. When I woke up there he was making the CUTEST facial expressions.

Yay! Erin is in town for a week from Chicago! I'm so glad that she gets a chance to meet the little guy. He loved her! I mean, duh, who doesn't? He held her finger the whole way to dinner last night.

A sleeping baby.

Last night he went to bed at 11:30ish. He didn't wake up until 4:30am, went to sleep at 5:30. Didn't wake up again until 10am. It was AMAZING! Let's hope this is how it will be for awhile!!!

I have a feeling that he really is going to be a chick magnet.



My cousin & his wife sent this Fisher Price activity mat. It's a great spot to work on his muscles to build for crawling. Apparently that is called Tummy Time. Eh, that might be as far as I go with the new "lingo." I will NOT use the phrase "play date." We didn't call playing with our friends that when we were little, why the heck would we call it that now? Stupid. Just stupid.

We thought it would be perfect having him go to 2 different family Easters. Thought it would keep him up & then he would sleep well that night. NOPE! He slept through BOTH easter dinners. Didn't even wake up during his diaper changes. It was amazing. And he would NOT sleep that night.

last night:

he slept: 8-10pm, 1-2:40am, woke up for the day @ 7am

and he won't nap!!! needless to say i'm beat as of right now. and i have to shower & clean the house.

to sleep or not to sleep....

Caden likes to wait until about 2AM to finally fall asleep. Now, in the past I stayed up that late or even later. But that was while I was doing stuff. Trying to keep myself awake while I'm trying to rock my baby to sleep is hard. I'm so calming that I put myself to sleep.

Last night, I let him cry/whine for 20 minutes!!! I figured he would just cry himself to sleep. Nope. He wanted me to come in there and hold him. So I went in, cuddled with him and swayed back & forth. Boom. He's out. So I waited a few minutes to make sure he is sleeping. His mouth was wide open, so I knew he was sleeping.

He slept until 11, but I had to leave, so I needed to change him. I think he would have slept longer if I didn't change him. When he opened his eyes he kept smiling. It was the cutest thing. It was like he knew he was doing it.

I just fed him and he passed out in my arms. I put him down & he woke up.

It's gonna be another long night & I already have a headache from my contacts. awesome.

4 weeks today!

I can't believe Cade is 4 weeks old today!!! He's starting to get into a sleep routine at night. If I put him down at 11pm he wakes up at 3am & 8am. That's fine with me! But if he goes down at around 8:45 then he gets up at 2 & 5. UNCOOL! So I guess he's a nightowl like his mommy & grandma. Last night he went to bed around 11:30 and didn't wake up until 5:30 then 9:30. Not too bad, but I was REALLY tired and ready for bed around 10- so that part sucked.

He's sleeping right now. Of course.

I went shopping for him & bought some 0-3M sized clothes. He is growing out of the newborn sized stuff, but not quite into the 3 month size yet. I can't wait to see him in his new outfits! :)

I haven't actually seen him that much yet today, I was running errands & he was with his grandma leff. He woke up from a nap & I took him into Daisy's room to hold him in front of the mirror. I was talking to him and asking him who was in the mirror & he smiled. It was sooooo cute. Like he was happy to see himself...or me. Either way, it was awesome. It would figure that our kid likes to look at himself in the mirror. haha.
