Caden's 1/2 Birthday

Yes, we celebrated his 1/2 birthday.  It was a good excuse to lure people over.  :)



The menu included mini sliders, deviled eggs, halved fruit, mini weiners, half drinks, half sandwiches (we used cookie cutters to shape them).



I wrapped up his "gifts" half way.  My usual wrapping jobs look just as good. haha.  I just wrapped up stuff that he has had for awhile, but has been too young to play with.













While I was making the sandwiches, I thought, hmm.  I can use this leftover bread to feed the ducks.  OOH!  Party favor for Molly & Riley!  They like feeding the ducks!  Now as soon as it stops raining, we'll be able to use it.




Nicole helped us get everything ready.  She blew up these balloons and I wrote the girls' names on them.  I forgot to have them take some home.  So my floor is covered in green balloons.  It's kinda fun.




Molly & Riley gave Cade their car & a guitar!  He loves both!













Yes, I made a cake & cut it in half to serve.  It was a recipe I got from Giada.  I liked it, but I probably should have put it in a ziploc to store in fridge.  It dried out.  But I still liked it,  It tasted like fruit loops.  :)



Nicole & Jeremy got him these cute holiday outfits!

I asked Molly & Riley to open the gifts.




Grandma & Papa got him Scout, they didn't know Uncle John bought it too.  So now he has one at home & one at their house.  It is such a cute toy.
















He woke up from a nap with curly hair!!!  CUTE!!!





Aunt Whitney made him this owl hat!  Super cute.  We had an impromptu photo shoot after this.  pictures to come soon.  I have to go to work!

Had to rush these shots, we were really busy and cramming so much into 1 day.  Hopefully things will slow down a little after volleyball is over.

It was REALLY hot out that day.

 

He LOVED being in the little plane! And he looked like he knew what he was doing. hahaha

 




I gave him a towel with ice wrapped in it. And yes, I used a hair tie to keep it all together. I know. I know. Ingenious. We stayed for about 5 hours, then I think it was time to get Cade home.

This will definitely go down as one of my favorite memories of Caden!  It was hilarious.  And the best part: I recorded it all!

I feel Fall creeping in for sure now! If I wasn't so busy with everything, I would be out there taking pictures. But while the little baby is napping, I have to get ready for my game tonight.

Well, he wasn't a fan of avocados, but yesterday I mixed it with peaches & oatmeal and he ate it. haha. Today he had bananas, apples, & oatmeal for breakfast. He likes the bananas even when they are cold! :)

We tried to go to the Fair yesterday, but it wouldn't stop raining. If he was at least 1 I would go, but he isn't going to get it yet, and I'd have to push him in the stroller. So it was a No Go. Today, we are going to go visit Jimmy @ work & mmmmmmaaayyyyyybe hit the mall. ;) What? It's cold & rainy, yesterday was a clean the house day so today is a mall day!

I did some photoshop work with this one, and I must say, I think it frickin' ROCKS



This smile is in a few pix, and it almost seems like he is making a "silly face." Like we are supposed to be serious & take a nice family portrait, and then there is Cade making a face and we don't see it until the film develops and we get all pissy. Only, we won't get "pissy" bc that is HILARIOUS!

I'm also impressed that he knows to push the characters back down on his pop-up toy. And now when we come in to get him in the morning, he is on his belly. {we put him to bed on his back} He also scoots all over. You put him down in one spot on his play mat, and then look back over and he is on the blanket instead facing the complete opposite direction! Nice!

Now he is taking a nap. So I'm gonna go try to get something done!
