Halloween 2012

Ok, So Halloween is one of our favorite holidays!  Coming up with costumes is a lot of fun!!!  Jimmy & I always make our costumes as well.  We never wear store-bought costumes.  Before I found out I had Caden, I knew what my first born child was going to be for Halloween when he/she was a toddler.

I grew up watching (and loving) scary movies, Elvira, Nightmare on Elm Street, Tales from the Crypt, Are You Afraid of the Dark?, Twilight Zone.  I thank my mom & grandma for that! :)  Child's Play was a movie I really enjoyed.  It freaked the crap out of me.  I even have the book from the movie.  Haha.  So it's only fitting that my child needed to be Chucky for Halloween.  Now I had to find the magic to put it together.

My kid HATES hats, so my first thought was to spray his hair with red hairspray.  However, he has fine super blonde beautiful hair.  I didn't want it to look pink for Christmas pictures. So I thought I would buy a wig & just hope he kept it on for some pictures.  I also needed to find a "rainbow" striped shirt.  I looked EVERYWHERE!  Even in the little girls' sections.  No shirt.  So I got this one from the thrift store.  Good enough.

As for the wig, I had a hard time finding one.  I had 2 reddish beards in my buggy and was going to just bobby pin them on him, then I saw this caveman wig & beard set. Score!  {little did I know I bought a two-fer!}

The overalls, scars, & make-up we had.  Oh yeah, and I bought him a knife.

Cuteset.....Chucky Doll......ever

Photobucket

HAHA! I love how creepy he is from the side & behind. Totally looks the part!

Photobucket

He had fun at this annual halloween costume photo shoot.  He was stabbing the pumpkins with his knife and coloring the ground with chalk.

Photobucket

HAHAHA!

Photobucket

I took him to visit his great-grandparents, with Jimmy's parents to go trick-or-treating at their place.  Jimmy's grandparents were passing out candy titled Child's Play!  Holy awesomeness!!  Haha

Photobucket

He did so well!  He walked all through the halls and held out his pumpkin for candy.  At one of the stops, he set his pumpkin down & grabbed the lady's pumpkin instead. Haha

Due to the weather, our trick-or-treating was pushed back a few days.  It worked out great though!  Jimmy was able to be there!!  We made our first stop at my parents' house for some tricks. :) Then my mom came with us to go downtown.

Photobucket

Photobucket
I wish the right picture was in focus, but oh well.  He was posing for pictures.  Everyone kept saying what a great costume he had.  My mom got all of it on video for us! He's going to love it when he gets older.  One guy said, "best costume! Hands down!"  It was pretty cool!  I'm so glad that Jimmy was able to take off work to take Caden on his first REAL trick-or-treating.  Last year, he stayed in his stroller.

Photobucket

This year, he walked to EVERY house!  He even kept his wig on all night!

Photobucket

He did really well, and now I can eat all of the candy he collected!!!

:)

Caden...and some baby stuff

Zoo Time with Aspen!

So I haven't put Caden's video footage onto a DVD yet.  I have a lot of it, too.  Another day.  Ugh.  The little man is going to have his Halloween photo shoot tomorrow morning.  I hope his costume works out.  Today he ran all over town with me going to the office, the library, my doctor's appointment (next monday is the BIG appointment!!!  Should see the baby next week as well), and the mall.  Speaking of which, I realized why I haven't been to the mall in a LONG time.  There really isn't anything we need.  It's kinda sad.  Haha.  I tried to find something that we could buy, but nope.

I do have to go to Pottery Barn to get some crib sheets.  Not looking forward to that because they are ridiculously priced.  But, I really want gray and/or yellow.  They are the only place I can find that has them.

Baby Update 34w

I thought having volleyball over would give me more time to get my own things done.  Nope.  Now I have have more time to do my other jobs.  Ugh!  I need a break!

How far along: 34.2 weeks

Maternity clothes: Why is this even a category?

Sleep: I had a bad dream last night, so I didn't sleep all that well.  But the night before I slept very well.  I hope I get some good sleep in the next few days though- I have a LOT going on!

Best moment this week: making dinner!

Movement: Yeah, not as much.  Probably because there isn't any room in there.

Food cravings/aversions:
caved...ate ice cream last night.  And I would eat some tonight, but it gave me HORRIBLE heartburn- had to sleep sitting up.  I was fine until about 2:45- that's when it struck!

Gender: I've moved up from 95% sure boy to 99% sure boy.  So i'm just focusing on boy names.

What I miss: not having heartburn, bending over, my belly not itching, being able to get up easy or just moving around easier

What I am looking forward to: my next appointment. Gonna check if I'm dilating

What I have learned:  I feel like I've been pregnant for 3 years straight!

Milestones: bought Caden a potty training potty.  That's the biggest milestone in the house right now

Ultrasounds

I just realized that I haven't put any ultrasounds on the blog of Baby #2, or as we named it, Brister. So here are some pictures of the baby!

Photobucket

This one is from about 8 weeks.  Very boring.

Photobucket

This one is from 12 weeks, more interesting!!!  Looks like it has no arms and no legs.

Photobucket

Week 19, ok good!  Limbs are there!  Here is a tiny little foot!  5 toes!

Photobucket

19 week again.  Uh oh, looks like a little drama queen!

So I wanted to compare the pix next to Caden's pix:

Photobucket

Little Nugs!

Photobucket

For our 12 week ultrasound, they actually sent me to the ultrasound room this time.  Last time, the doctor used the machine in his office.  Definitely a huge difference between the two!

Photobucket

19 weeks!  Tiny little feet!!!

Photobucket

And their profiles!

I think Caden looks like Michael and Brister looks like Kim.

I can't wait until my next ultrasound!  Only two more weeks, I believe!  We were also being sneaky and got some footage.  It wouldn't let me send the entire video, so here is a clip of the baby opening & closing its mouth!

Pressure

Lots of pressure Sunday.  And I noticed that long walks....not so great right now.  After going around the Lake View Cemetery.  Jimmy axed all of the baby names on our list so we had to start all over.  We have another list in the making, but I'm still freaking out that this baby won't have a name when it's born.  So after it's born and we send out info on height, weight, and a picture....don't expect a name to go along with it.  Haha.

Bending over to tie my shoes or put on socks or ANYTHING else....not easy.

Trying not to sleep on my right side.....not easy.

Avoiding heartburn...not gonna happen.

And all I want to eat is ice cream (which I haven't caved & eaten yet), dark chocolate, fruit, cookies, CAPE COD CHIPS....OMG I'm starving.  And I want nothing healthy.

baby update 33w

Photobucket

How far along: 33.2 weeks

Maternity clothes: Usually wear leggings and my "fat" skinny jeans.  Other than that I have worn a couple maternity pants (like pictured above).  I haven't worn maternity tops really.  But my t-shirts are getting to the point where they are way too short in the front.  Haha

Sleep: Depends on the day.  I feel rested today.  Yesterday I subbed a full day and had practice afterwards.  I was EXHAUSTED.  Ready for bed at 6pm.  Jimmy took my body pillow out for me so that helps.

Best moment this week: knowing that volleyball is almost over! Haha

Movement: Lots of it!  Right now, the way that the baby is positioned- my belly button is off to the side by an inch! I think I might have felt some Braxton Hicks yesterday.

Food cravings/aversions: pumpkin cream cheese, water, pineapple, strawberries, Cape Cod chips (just finished the bag too), popcorn, dark chocolate.  Things that I don't really want: spoiled milk (oops drank that twice), fishy fish, potatoes, milk chocolate.

Gender: So I'm leaning towards a boy.  I'm about 95% sure that's what it is. I tried peeking in the envelope again, and saw nothing. Haha.  But all the signs point to boy, even though it feels like a girl.

What I miss: still miss feeling good about myself, sleeping on my right side, fitting into my clothes, not having an itchy belly, NOT HAVING A belly!

What I am looking forward to: Popping this kid out! Shopping for baby stuff & decorating the nursery.  I also can't wait to take newborn pictures.  Shoot, I need to finish some crocheting!!!!!

What I have learned: This baby is coming a lot sooner than I realized.  I need to pick out a name!!!!   Jimmy made me throw out our list, so we started all over!!!!!!!!  AHHHHHH!

Milestones: my uterus is jammed into my lungs and I can't breathe.  I have to arch back to get good deep breaths.  Also watching my belly move in all different directions.  It almost looks lumpy & lopsided.  Like there are 3 kids in there.  Oh shit, this baby HAS to be huge!!!!

Leaves!!

Little Man helped me rake up leaves the other day.  He likes them way more this year than he did last year.

Ugh!  Heartburn & Acid Reflux!!!???!!!  AGAIN??  I was hoping to not have to really deal with that this time around.  I think it might even be worse this time.  BC I have it all day, not just at night.  I have it right now!  Ridic!  These dang hairy babies are killing me.  I also developed some nasal congestion as well.  Fabulous!  And being able not to breathe.  Yeah that kinda sucks.

Jimmy & I had names picked out and were pretty set to go, until last night when he sprung on me that he doesn't like 2 of them anymore.  And yes, they were probably the top 2.  Sooooooo, now we pretty much have to start all over.  I'm not too thrilled about that.  In fact, I'm really stressing out about it.

I haven't felt nauseous in awhile, that's always good.  :)  Since the heartburn is so bad, I really don't feel like eating anything though.  :(

************************

Caden is doing really well.  He just got some stacking cups from some friends, and he is OBSESSED with them.  It's so cute.  I love to watch him walk around, too.  He cracks me up.  When I tell him to go get something he does.  Nice!  He actually is trying to play with my right now, so I'm going to go be entertained some more by that little nugget.

p.s. his halloween costume might not work out and I'm a little disappointed.  I had that planned out before he was even born!!
I feel like I need this!

Baby Update 31w

How far along: 31 weeks

Maternity clothes: I wear some, but still getting away with not having to wear them everyday.  I probably wear a maternity apparel about once a week.

Sleep: WOW am I EXHAUSTED!!!!  I look like crap.  Giant bags under my eyes.

Best moment this week: going to the gym on my birthday.  I wish I got there more often.

Movement: this baby likes to rock and roll!!!!  It was very squirmy at my volleyball game and it's rolling around right now.

Food cravings/aversions: nothing sounds appealing to me right now.  maybe just some water.

Gender: no clue. and everyone that puts in their own input is all over.  If I counted the number of guesses we'd be pretty even boy/girl.  I think I'll do a gender, size, date pool again

What I miss: sleep and feeling good about myself

What I am looking forward to: having my body back to myself.  Watching Caden as a big brother.  My 36 week ultrasound- - can't come soon enough!!!!

What I have learned: the 2nd pregnancy goes by faster and I seem less interested in what the baby is doing at each stage.  For instance, I don't read my Day by Day book like I did with Caden.  It's more of a Crap, I'm a Week Behind...reading.

Milestones: turning 30 years old and not too thrilled about it.  It's going to be so hard to get my body looking good.

9.24.2012

18 month Check-up

Caden has his doctor's appointment today.  He had 3 shots and two cool Snoopy tattoos.  He is doing very well!!!

Head Circumference: 47.5 cm  45%tile
Weight: 25 lbs 6 oz   45%tile
Height: 2' 9.25"    77%tile

He doesn't go back until he is 2 yrs old!  TWO YEARS OLD!!!???!!  I can't even imagine having a two year old.  And the sad part is that it will be here sooner than I think.

Not to mention having 2 kids at that point.  whew!

Speaking of which, Baby #2 is moving around like crazy.  I was looking at some baby names and we may have to get rid of one of our boy names.  It was WAY too common.  I don't want a kid who has 10 other kids in its class with the same name.  Ugh.  Thinking of names is so hard, too.

I have a few pictures to post, just need to upload them in between the other 6 jobs I have going on right now.

9.21.2012

About 32 Inches

Photobucket

Just curious to see how much he has grown bc he seems soooooo tall.  He can now take things off of the kitchen table.

Photobucket

About 32"

We'll see what the doctor's office comes up with next week.

18 months!!!

Photobucket

Wow!  A year and 6 months has gone by already.  Yay! Now we can just say Caden is a year and a half now.  Instead of using the month terminology.  I definitely think he is growing up so quickly, but after looking at his now picture next to these, it looks like he has lost his baby face.  :(   It could also be the mop on his head.

Photobucket

Giving kisses to Nipper (more like expecting kisses back) and petting him on the head.

Photobucket

I love that picture of him on the right.  "Hey!  I'm going to get a lot of candy in this here pumpkin next month.  Candy that I won't be allowed to eat yet because I'm too little.  Candy that my mom & dad will devour."

Photobucket

Photobucket

The Bipolar-ness of a toddler.  He actually wasn't pouting in that picture just making a silly face.

BLOCKS!!!  If you ever need someone to tear down your block building, Caden is the man for the job!

Little Man Update

He is VERY independent!  And I like that.  Still calls me Dada, not too keen on that though.  I love how he says the cat's name.  Likes to play and looks at books!!!  He's into chasing the dog around which is cool, except I have to make sure he doesn't go near her tail or she'll freak.  So that will be better when he understands that.  He's a smart little cookie, too.  Sometimes he does stuff and Jimmy & I just look at each other like, "how the heck did he know to do that?"  It's pretty cool.

He's kinda getting in that clingy stage where he just wants me and comes over and hugs my legs and doesn't let go.  Haha.

I can't believe how big he is getting, too.  :(  It's a good thing we are having another baby soon.

Well, I need to get cracking on my pictures for work.   Yay.....

Baby #2 Update 28w

Photobucket

How far along: 28.3 weeks

Maternity clothes: I'm still getting away with not having to wear them.  Old Navy had a sale on clothes. I needed new khaki shorts for coaching, so I just bought a few sizes bigger than what I normally wear.  And I fit into my "fat" jeans right now, so I really don't have to wear maternity jeans yet either.  I have a couple of times though.

Sleep: Yeah, not getting that anymore, I guess.  I REALLY struggled yesterday.  And last night I had pretty bad acid reflux & heartburn, so that kinda kept me up.  The other night, our neighbor's dog barked outside our window from 1am-4am.  That never helps.

Best moment this week: Hearing the baby's heartbeat the other night with Jimmy's stethoscope. It was beating fast.

Movement: This baby likes to Move it, Move it!  And it's definitely getting bigger because the kicks are harder and the pushing it does it stronger.

Food cravings/aversions: Right now I can't even think about eating pasta.  I'm trying to eat more protein.

Gender: Not finding out.  For sure.  I've made it this far, and I think it would be cool to not know.  When the baby comes out there will actually be meaning behind it when they say, "It's a ______!"  Instead of thinking to myself, yeah.  I already know.

What I miss: feeling good about myself, getting out of bed easily, sleeping through the night, wearing whatever I want.

What I am looking forward to: Meeting the baby & seeing Caden with his "brister"

What I have learned: hitting downballs and serving to my girls is probably not the best idea.  I think I pulled an ab muscle.  It and doesn't feel that great.  But someone has to do it!

Milestones: Nothing to do with this pregnancy but I held a newborn that wasn't mine!!!!!

This & That

My belly pretty much looks the same as when I was pregnant with Caden.

Photobucket

My hair is longer!  I think it's funny that I took both of these pictures after a shower.  I can tell my hair is wet.  I would say that I'm carrying this baby a little lower, probably because my abs aren't as strong as they were the first time around.  It's kinda of funny to see the two next to each other.  And gross at the same time.

9.09.2012

A little post from the Baby Mama

I should could be in bed right now.

It's almost midnight, but I'm glued to the brightness of my MacBook.  Damn you technology.  Now I won't be able to go to sleep for awhile.  It's good that I haven't been lying down in bed though, because  I have heartburn.

I just realized today that I only have about 12 weeks left to go in this pregnancy.  I have to admit, it's been pretty dang easy!  That is a little scary- maybe the birth won't be so easy- maybe I will come out of it with stretch marks- maybe I'll be surprised with TWINS!!!!  ahhhh!

Jimmy took my 28 week picture today, so hopefully I will find some time to upload that.  I have a HUGE couple of weeks ahead of me.  I already want them to be over.  :/

Tomorrow, I have a hair modeling gig, stop at the office to turn in pictures, an away game, dinner at my parents', and need to clean the ENTIRE house, bc we have about 25 people coming over on Tuesday.

I guess I really should go to bed...

The baby is kicking me, trying to tell me to go lay down.

Third Trimester, Here I am!!!!

Yay!  I had my 27th week appt today.  I asked the doctor about all of the new veins that popped up on my right leg this pregnancy.  He said we will check for blood clotting the next appt.  They actually hurt.  I can feel the blood throbbing in the area where there are veins.  Not cool.  I also asked him about how nauseous I have been.  Nothing is wrong with me or the baby, so I just got unlucky this time with being sick throughout the pregnancy. It hasn't been completely unbearable and I know people have it worse than me.  So I can't really complain.  But I do.  hehe.

I also have to make sure I have 5 fetal kicks after I eat.  If not- I need to call the doc.  Lots of stuff this ponder.

Today was my gestational diabetes testing day.  When I was pregnant with Caden, it was around Christmas time when I was this far along.  Needless to say, with all of the holiday eating, I failed the diabetes test.  Healthy results 65-135  I had a 146.  Oops.  So I had to do the 3 hour long test.  That really sucked!!!!  So this time around, I tried to watch my sugar intake before the test.  The vampire that took my blood asked if I ate anything this morning.  Yes- plain oatmeal. She said, that's not that good bc it's carbs.  Carbs breakdown into sugar.  Well shit.  So I've been kinda stressed about that all day.  And I got my results tonight.......85!  Yay.  No dia-Bee-tis here!

I kinda have some heartburn right now.  But looking back on my last pregnancy it is NOTHING compared to it:
Bad heartburn

Oh man, I feel so bad for my former me.  Sleeping while sitting up or not sleeping at all.

Oh geez!  It's getting late.  I have a lot to do again tomo.  Gonna go read myself to sleep.
